Swift Control – Quickly navigate Your WordPress Website

I’m super excited to announce that we have just released Swift Control – A new WordPress plugin that will make it easy for your customers to navigate their WordPress website 🥳

What is Swift Control?

Swift Control is a plugin that allows you to quickly access all key areas of your website in an intuitive and easy way. It creates a navigation panel on the left side of your screen that you can use to access all important areas of your website like the WordPress customizer, WordPress dashboard or even edit the current post/page/custom post type you are working on.

The idea behind this plugin is to eliminate confusion and provide a better User Experience for logged-in users. In fact, we created this plugin 3 years ago when we built our first WordPress multisite (WaaS) network to make it easier for our customers to find their way around.

It was now time to make it a standalone plugin 🙂 Swift Control was born!

What about the WordPress admin toolbar?

The WordPress toolbar always annoyed me as it just sits there on top of every page when you are logged into your website. It’s bold, distracting and other plugins often extend it which doesn’t always help with usability. The more items in the toolbar, the more cluttered it becomes.

Swift Control is all about a better User Experience.

The focus with Swift Control & Swift Control PRO is to provide a frictionless & more intuitive way for your customers to navigate and edit their website. The best part is, it saves you time.

Let’s have a quick look at some of the main features.

Free Version

Swift Control comes in 2 versions. A free version that’s available from the official WordPress repository and a PRO version that comes with additional functionality and more advanced features.

With the free version, you can add the following selection of widgets to the control panel:

  • Access the Dashboard
  • Edit Post/Page/Post Type (will change depending on the post type a person is looking at)
  • Access the WordPress Customizer
  • Create a new Page or Post
  • Access Themes list
  • Access Plugins list

For each item you can:

  • Change the label that will be displayed on the frontend
  • Choose whether or not to open the page in a new tab
  • Choose a FontAwesome 5 icon

There are additional settings that will allow you to change the accent color, icon color & background color of the panel as well as settings to:

  • Export & Import your widgets & data to a different WordPress installation
  • Hide the default WordPress admin bar
  • Not load FontAwesome 5 (in case another plugin or your theme already includes it)
  • Remove settings on uninstall

Swift Control PRO

Let’s have a quick look at some of the features included in the PRO version:

  • Custom Widgets – take people to any internal or external page
  • Page Builder Support – Swift Control automatically detects if the page was built in a page builder and launches when clicking the Edit Page button. This currently works with Elementor, Beaver Builder, Divi, Brizy, Wallace Inline & Oxygen
  • Custom Post Type Support – A new “Add {Post Type}” widget will automatically be added for every publicly available post type
  • WooCommerce Support
  • Sign-Out Widget – with the ability to add a custom redirect URL

The best part?

This is just the beginning!

We’ve gathered a ton of feedback from our amazing Facebook community (feel free to join!) and we’re working hard to further improve Swift Control.

Pricing

As mentioned above, there is a free version that you can try out in the WordPress repository.

The PRO version which can be used on an unlimited number of sites is:

  • $58/year with a 20% renewal discount

For a limited time, early adopters can take advantage of a lifetime deal ($248) and a special launch discount on the yearly plan.

In Closing

With Swift Control we wanted to simplify the way we navigate and access the key areas of our WordPress website. If you’re not a fan of the default WordPress toolbar and want to improve the experience for your and your customers, this plugin is for you.

We’re constantly adding tasks to our roadmap for Swift Control and most of it is based on your feedback. I’d like to invite you to join the conversation in our private Facebook group.
